It’s a pain to do, and easy to “forget,” but the shower door tracks in your bathroom need some TLC every once in awhile. But have no fear! Follow these simple steps to learn the best way to clean your shower door track and you’ll never be afraid to clean them again!

1. The Tools for the Job
There are a number of cleaners and cleansers you could go and buy, but let’s assume you’re a busy lady with no time for such frivolous purchases. Here are some convenient makeshift cleaning supplies you might find lying around the house.
- White Vinegar
- Paper Towels (or cleaning rag)
- Spray Bottle
2. Work Smarter Not Harder
First, don’t take the door off! That MIGHT be necessary later, but for right now we’re just going to focus on the tracks. Take turns cleaning the tracks when the shower door is closed, then the other end when the door is open. I know, this sounds obvious, but some people get so caught up in their cleaning crusade that they think they need to take the whole thing apart, and truth is, it’s usually not needed.

3. Doing the Dirty Work
Follow these simple steps to get your tracks shiny and clean.
- If it’s been a while, pour some vinegar on the tracks and let it set for a few minutes, then hit it with the towels/rag. (If you’re a regular cleaner, then applying the vinegar straight to the towels should work just fine.)
- Once you’ve given it a good wiping down, breakout the toothbrush and scrub those hard to reach places.
- A quick spray with the water and another wipe down and you’re done!
